Be a Certified Facilitator

If you work with a family-serving organization or school, earn the certification to facilitate AP/OD as your own program! AP/OD Facilitators are champions for parents with young children and often lead other family activities in the community. Many are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Attend a three-day AP/OD Institute and work with Master Trainers to learn the curriculum. Experience the approach and materials for each of the program’s 10 sessions and learn popular education facilitation skills with expert coaching and peer support. You will use your new skills in many situations beyond AP/OD!

Put your certification to work in your community by delivering AP/OD to groups of approximately 20 parents at a time. Many Facilitators teach the curriculum for several cycles, some for years. AP/OD National offers technical support and ongoing learning opportunities.

Understand your impact as a Facilitator by working with AP/OD’s pre- and post-program impact tool. This new user-friendly tool not only helps you learn – it provides a way for you to consistently report results to your organization or school, bringing added value.

Join AP/OD’s national network of Facilitators who honor and invest in the leadership of parents, build around their existing strengths, and support them to lead the way to positive outcomes for their young children. As a Facilitator, you are key to catalyzing this nationwide movement across diverse communities because you hold the relationships with parents!

TAKE THE NEXT STEP:  Sign up for a three-day AP/OD Institute and earn the certification to adopt the program for your organization or school. If you already deliver the program but want training in the new modules (early math, positive technology, Kindergarten transition, the impact tool, and more), AP/OD offers a two-day Institute.

Hear from Facilitators!

I just finished an amazing three-day training at the AP/OD Institute and can’t wait to deliver my first parent program! I’ve been in early childhood education for 16 years and have done a lot of trainings with different curriculums, but always felt something missing. AP/OD connects with our Latino/Hispanic culture and empowers our parents as the first and most important teachers of their children. Finally! This program is going to support our parents to teach their children they can do anything they want because they will have the tools they need to succeed in life.

I’m impressed and excited to bring AP/OD to the families in our diocese. I love the flexibility of the program to integrate some of our own specific tools for parents. Tomorrow when I return from the Institute, I’m having a meeting with my team to plan how we will implement AP/OD in all our schools and with our community partners.
