What Is Facilitator Certification?

If you work at a family-focused organization or school you can get certified to implement the AP-OD curriculum in your community. AP-OD’s curriculum is created with and for families with children ages zero to five.

Our partner organizations that offer AP-OD’s curriculum go through a comprehensive certification process to become AP-OD Facilitators. Facilitators teach interactive family classes in organizations across the country and are champions for parents with young children.

Our curriculum covers early childhood development and learning skills like reading, math, technology, and health while also creating lifelong connections within their communities.

How Does Facilitator Certification Work?

Step 1

Train

Select either an AP-OD in-person Institute or an online Institute and work with Master Trainers to learn the curriculum. Experience our innovative approach for each of the program's 10 sessions and learn popular education facilitation skills with expert coaching and peer support. You will use your new skills in many situations beyond AP-OD!

Step 2

FACILITATE

Put your certification to work in your community by delivering AP-OD to groups of parents in-person, online, or both.. Many Facilitators teach the curriculum for several cycles, some for years. AP-OD National offers technical support and ongoing learning opportunities.

Step 3

ASSESS

Understand your impact as a Facilitator by working with AP-OD’s pre- and post-program impact tool. This new user-friendly tool not only helps you learn – it provides a way for you to consistently report results to your organization or school, bringing added value.

Step 4

CONNECT

Join AP-OD’s national network of Facilitators who honor and invest in the leadership of parents, build around their existing strengths, and support them to lead the way to positive outcomes for their young children. As a Facilitator, you are key to catalyzing this nationwide movement across diverse communities because you hold trusted relationships with parents!

    Take the Next Step!

Contact AP/OD National to learn how your organization or school can participate in a three-day AP/OD Institute to acquire the program for ongoing use, leverage and grow it within your own context, and join an active national network dedicated to building parent leaders.

If you already have the program, but want training in the most recent modules (early math, positive technology, Kindergarten transition, the impact tool, and more), AP/OD offers a two-day Institute.
