Real family experiences, shaping AP-OD
AP-OD supports, honors, and invests in parents as leaders and their child’s first and most important teacher. The National Parent and Caregiver Co-Creation Advisory Group puts that belief into practice: parents and caregivers who've been through local AP-OD programs meet monthly with AP-OD staff to review, question, and co-create the organization's national work — rooted in AP-OD's Popular Education approach, where lived experience is seen as expertise.
Voice
Members help shape AP-OD's blogs, campaigns, and social content to ensure it relevant to the needs of families.
Leadership
Members represent AP-OD parent leadership in national spaces, like the United Parent Leadership Action Network (UPLAN) National Convening, and grow their own advocacy skills.
Co-creation
Members participate in surveys, focus groups, and early testing of new tools — from curriculum updates to the AP-OD Family App — and help decide what actually helps families.

No prior experience is needed — just your willingness to share your perspective, ideas, and life experiences.
